the Manade (bullfarm)

The manade is the place where bulls and of the carmargue horses are reared by the gardians (those how take care of the bulls and horses).

At the time of the visit to the manade of Franquevaux, the lovely Evelyne ( dressed like a bull keeper , and unmarried!) talks to you about carmargue horses. Even the dogs wake up in order to listen. After multiple cross-breedings we currently seek to get back to the pure race of a small size, but perfectly adapted to the environment of the Camargue and to the work with the bulls.

Regularly the "gardians" sort the bulls in order to select the beasts. It is an exciting moment in the life of a manade.

The bulls live in semi-freedom on some very immense fields. To the bottom one sees the roof of our house. It is near by, and the beasts are wild.
